A WALK AROUND THE LAKE

A 4-day itinerary immersed in the nature surroundings of Lake Maggiore.

We will walk along old paths on the heights of the lake to visit ancient villages with breathtaking views.

Day 1: Arrival at the hotel, check-in and dinner.

Day 2: Today we will walk along the medieval road from the small fishing village of Suna to the stone village of Candoglia where we will find evidence of stone working and learn many interesting facts about chestnut trees. We will enjoy a beautiful walk with breathtaking views of the Borromeo Gulf and the mountain ranges towards the Val Grande National Park.  We will reach Cavandone a harmonious mountain village, rich in history with its old well, old millstones and its pottery workshop. 

Day 3: Cannero-Cannobio: a route that brings you to the heights of the lake, along the ancient trade paths. Scenic views will accompany us along the way, where we will find historic remnants in the mountain villages and where we will learn about the flora of the lake. Once arrived in Cannobio there will be time for a walk along the lake and a refreshing stop in one of the bars and cafés in the centre. It's possible to organize the return to the hotel by ferry boat. 

Day 4: Today's hike will start in Stresa and we will follow the Chestnut Trail along the road overlooking Belgirate. Our eyes will be enchanted by splendid views of Lake Maggiore. We will discover small villages, pass lands and churches that evoke the past. We will arrive in Belgirate with its beautiful square and church. Free time before the transfer by private motorboat to Isola Bella where we will be enchanted by the majestic Palazzo, a stately residence, rich in stuccoes and tapestries and still the residence of Prince Borromeo, and by the luxuriant Italian-style garden on ten terraces overlooking the Borromeo Gulf.

Day 5: After breakfast, return home.
