DISCOVERING LAKE COMO
This trip begins with a visit to the splendid gardens of Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo and Bellagio, a typical lakeside resort, a visit to the elegant town of Como and its historic centre will complete our journey.
Day 1: Arrival at the hotel, check-in and dinner.
Day 2: The morning will be dedicated to the visit of the magnificent gardens of Villa Carlotta in Tremezzo. The park is famous for spring blossoming of rhododendron and azaleas with over 150 species. Although the park is well worth a visit all year around with its rock garden, the valley of the ferns, the rhododendron forest, the bamboo garden and the museum of agricultural tools, all the while being surrounded by the magical landscape of Lake Como. Following the visit you will take the boat towards the heart of the lake: the town of Bellagio. Typical hamlet in the centre of the lake and headquarters of the prestigious Rockefeller Foundation it offers its visitors a quiet and elegant atmosphere.
Day 3: in the morning we will get to know the city of Como. With a guide we will visit the town centre; the Cathedral, the Broletto (medieval municipal building) and the S. Fedele Basilica. In the afternoon, guided visit of the Silk Museum to discover how the silk production has evolved over the centuries. It is possible to organize a visit to a modern silk factory.
Day 4: After breakfast, return home.
